Recruiting - May 2025 Update

Recruiting - May 2025 Update

We're already a third of the way through 2025, and our team has been digging into the data and feedback we've collected so far.

Here’s what stood out:

Q1: A Shift from the Norm

Traditionally, January through March is the busiest time of year for agents to make a move. It’s also when our recruiting calls tend to convert at the highest rate.

But 2025 had other plans.

This year, agents were more cautious. Many told us they were hesitant to explore new opportunities due to uncertainty around the economy, interest rates, and the industry overall.

Our clients were hearing the same thing—and the numbers reflected it.

Our Q1 conversion rate was down roughly 32% compared to the same period last year (a note on this below).

April: A Turning Point

Typically, April marks the beginning of a slowdown in recruiting momentum.

Again, not this year. Instead, we saw a rebound.

Clients began successfully hiring agents they’d engaged with early this year or late last year.

Our April conversion rate increased by 18% over Q1’s average.

What changed?

More agents expressed that, with no clear sense of when stability will return, they might as well take charge of their future now.

What This Means for the Rest of 2025

We usually avoid making predictions—but this year we’re confident about one thing:

Recruiting isn't going to follow the usual seasonal script.

We don’t expect a summer lull followed by a Q4 surge. We may see bursts of movement triggered by larger events—or a steady flow of agents deciding not to wait any longer.

What’s clear is this: the patterns we relied on in past years aren’t holding and there's no reason to expect they'll return as the year progresses.

That means slowing recruiting efforts during the summer and picking them back up in Q4 is no longer a dependable strategy.

The better approach?

Stay consistent. Continue to allocate as many resources to recruiting as possible given your other priorities.

And if you haven’t started recruiting yet?

Don’t wait for the "right" time. Start as soon as you're ready—because this year, timing is no longer predictable.

***We shared the changes in our conversion rates above so you could compare them to your numbers if you're making recruiting calls yourself.

If you're considering outsourcing your recruiting calls and are interested in our program, please know we guarantee the number of appointments per month.

So, it doesn't matter if our conversion rate is up, down, or flat. You'll still get a predictable number of appointments per month.
